Potable water and civil mains
Our experience working on potable water and civil mains extends to installation of 225mm fire main and 180mm potable water main to a new-build hospital including installation of fire hydrants and non-return valves.
The project included the excavation and installation of an underground water storage tank, gravity-fed potable water supply pipe, water meters and stop cocks to houses within the estate grounds. The underground tank includes a submersible booster pump, drain pipe work and automatic flushing filtration system with ultraviolet filters located in each of the house inlet supplies. The tank and potable pipe work were chlorinated in accordance with water board regulations before use.
We supported the main contractor in installing a 225mm fire main and 180mm potable water main to this new-build hospital. We were responsible for the jointing and connection of both fire main and water main pipes including the installation of fire hydrants, air, non return and isolation (AVK) valves, construction of manifolds to accommodate water meters and drain/flush valves at locations for water board connections to the mains supply.
